A Good week

It has been a good week! We had two baptisms. We are working with a lot of great people, and there is a lot of potential here in Puerto Maldonado.

I was happy to be able to see everyone on the Christmas Call!! You all look great!

Spiritual thought of the day:

"What thoughts come to mind if you had a personal interview with your Savior one minute from now?
Would sins, regrets, and shortcomings dominate your self-image, orwould you simply experience joyful anticipation? Would you meet or avoidHis gaze? Would you linger by the door or confidently walk up to Him?" ("Approaching the Throne of God with Confidence" Elder Jörg Klebingat)

We never know when our time in earth will be over, or when we will need to be worthy to be in the presence of God... we should be worthy in every moment. After all... "this life is the time for men to prepare to meet God" Alma34:32

Eternal Families

Quite honestly, this week has been hard for me. I´m not exactly sure why... there really isn´t any reason, but it has just been hard. It has been hard for me to focas, and to keep going. But don´t worry, I´m doing fine.

We had an eye opening experience. A less active member that we´ve been working with stopped us on the street, and we started to talk. The conversation started out normal, but I felt that something wasn´t all right. I looked him in the eyes and said: "[name] are you feeling alright?" He immediately busted into tears and started sobbing, and said "Elders, my wife left me, and I need someone to talk to." We went and talked to him, and he explained to us that his wife and him had been fighting a lot, and that Saturday night he came home from work to an empty house. he said that his wife had left a note, and that she had gone with his three daughters. We didn´t do much, but we listened, and sat with him for a while. at one point, he told us: "Elders, I now realize why an eternal family is important. This last day without my wife and kids has been hell... I have promised God over and over again, that if they come back I will do all that he requires of me. I will get active in the church, fix my family, and take us to a temple to get sealed..."

Eternal Families ARE important. I know that they are. Sometimes we don´t realize the great blessings that we have until they are lost. The family is the center of God´s plan, and he wants us to be happy with them forever.

I love you all!
Merry Christmas!

Monkey Fotos

Two different monkeys we`ve found here in puerto.

Back into the work

Well, Elder Augat is now here, and we are back to work. Elder Augat is doing well.

Training again is a great experience.  I`m learning more than I`m teaching. I think that that is how things work out a lot. God places us in positions to teach, but that is when we become the best students. I love the fact that this church is a church of Progression. We are always progressing... or at least we should be.

All is well here in Puerto Maldonado. The work is going well.

The Real Gift of Christmas, Changes, and cool experiences.

He is the Gift
First off, I would like to let you all know about the Church´s month long initiative to share the true meaning of Christmas with the world. The Church has created a small video called "He is the Gift, and they want as many people as possible to see this video in December. For your info, the Church has bought the big screen in Times Square, and the front page of Youtube, but... it´s not enough. The church wants ALL members to share the video on facebook, twitter, instagram, etc... Please, share with the world your love for Jesus Christ, and your thankfulness to God for the gift he gave 2,000 years ago.

Changes
Elder Williams has a change, and will be going to Puno. I will miss him a lot. As for me, I am staying here in Puerto Maldonado, and I will be training again!! Most likely I will be here in Puerto until I finish the mission. It is a wierd feeling.

Cool Experiences
Other than that, w´ve had some great experiences. Saturday and Sunday was the District Conference here in Puerto Maldonado. President Harbertson, President Patiño, and President Hasler (the mission presidency) came, and inspired us with their wonderful messages.

6 men from our Branch, and 15 from the District received the Melchizedek Priesthood during the Conference. 3 of them are converts that I´ve had the opportunity to work with (Danny, Sahi, and Mayer)! What a blessing from the Lord!

Mayer, our recent convert, had classes on Saturday, and told his teacher that he had to leave to go to a conference of his church. His teacher told him that he couldn´t go, because if he did, his grade would be affected. He politely told her that either way he had to go to the conference, and walked out. He came and enjoyed the conference, and afterward went and told his teacher that he was sorry. She said that she understood, and didn´t hurt his grade.

I love the Gospel so much!! and I love Jesus Christ so much!!
