Great training from President Harbertson

Family and Friends,

I´ve had a great week!! This week we had a wonderful training with President and Sister Harbertson. the training was different, because we didn´t do it in a chapel. President assigned the Zone leaders to choose an outdoor place, and plan the training. We walked along the shores of Lake Titicaca and each of the leaders (district and zone) talked. I talked about captivity and liberty, and how we can really be free. After each of us talked, President and Sister Harbertson talked to us, and then we had a testimony meeting. It was a beautiful experience. I loved Sister Harbertson´s talk. She told us that walking along the shore of Lake Titicaca reminded her of when President Harbertson and her went to the sea of Galilee. She said that they walked along the shore of Galilee for hours, and talked about the great biblical events that happened there. She bore her powerful sweat testimony of the life of Christ, and then talked about the Priesthood.

President Harbertson talked to us about having a good attitude. He shared with us the fact that Nephi and Laman and Lemual passed through the same experience, but had a complete different attitude. He told us that the mission isn´t easy, but that if we have a good attitude it will be enjoyable. It reminded me of the quote that Dad always says: "you decide your own weather." It is so true!

Spiritual thought of the day:

In the Old Testament Jehovah (Christ) said:  "be holy, for I am holy." (Leviticus 11:45 See also Lev. 20:7-8, 20:26)
In the New Testament he said: "Be... ye perfect." (Matt. 5:48 see also 3 Nephi 12:48)
In the book of Mormon, Moroni said: "that we may be purified even as he is pure." (Moroni 7:48)
In The Doctrine and Covenants it says:"[we] must... be sanctified from all unrighteousness, [to] be prepared for... celestial glory." (D&C 88:18)

¿How? It sounds kinda hard to me. I like a quote from president Lorenzo Snow:

"Do not expect to become perfect at once. If you do, you will be disappointed. Be better today than you were yesterday, and be better tomorrow than you are today."

It IS possible to become perfect, but it takes a lifetime of faithful service and hard work... actually, it takes an eternity.

I love you All!! I know that we are in the work of the Lord. I know that this is his church, and that he is at the helm.
