"Durand Family Plan"

We´ve been working with the Durand Family for a while now.

Elvira (Mom)
Lipzy (Daughter) - Edwin (husband)
Karen (Daughter) - Ronald (Husband)
Fatima (Daughter) - Nestor (Husband- non member)
Josue (Son)

They are a family in which just about everyone is members. But... They have stopped coming to church. It is kind of a sad story because when I got here they were coming to church just about every week. They were one of the strongest families in the ward. I was able to witness in action the Pride Cycle, and how by small and simple things great things come to pass.

Basically (without a lot of details), the family has been blessed for their faithfulness in the church. Their business has prospered, and they have started to live very comfortable. Thanks to this, their focus started to change from the Spiritual to the Temporal. They started to leave behind the small and simple things (family prayer, family scripture study, family night, personal prayer and scripture study...), and little by little they stopped coming to church (This started by just skipping a class here and another there, and resulted in not coming at all). In the end, they stopped coming to church for a whole month.

My Companion and I have been worried, because the Durand Family is a great family with a lot of Potential. This week we went to their house and talked about small and simple things, and focused on keeping the Sabbath day holy. In the lesson, Hermana Elvira told us that she is worried about the family, and told us that she would like to sit down with us and make a "Durand Family Plan." This week we are going to do that.

On Sunday the ENTIRE family showed up ON TIME to church. We were so excited!

I know that this is the work of God that we are embarked in. I know that we can all make a difference in the lives of others. This week, think of someone that needs your help, and reach out to help them.

I love you all!!
